INWARD BUYER PROGRAMME 2010
Horse Sport Ireland provides refunds of air or ferry travel costs to the purchasers
of horses or ponies registered with the Irish Horse Register and ponies
registered with the Connemara Pony Breeders Society Studbook for export at
auction sales.Any purchaser from outside Ireland who buys a lot will be entitled
to travel reimbursements depending on their country of origin subject to the
conditions below.
Note: The refund rate cannot exceed the cost of the ticket
The maximum rate of refund is as follows:
Great Britain claimants - 65
European mainland claimants - 160
USA & Australia claimants - 415

Application forms should be left with the sales company with the following
documentation:
A copy of air/ferry ticket (clearly showing the cost of both inward and outward
journeys)
Completion of the relevant section of the application form by each claimant,
stating the names and addresses of each claimant travelling together
In relation to buyers who travel by ferry and who purchase and export five or
more horses, a maximum refund of 325 will apply, provided the ferry ticket
cost 325 or more
Once the sale is over the applicant has two months in
which to get their application processed
In order for eligibility under this programme the purchase price per lot must exceed
2,500 before taxes and VAT.The Programme shall apply to a purchaser who buys three
or more lots per sales day exceeding a cumulative value of6,000 before taxes andVAT.
